Mariner outboard motor serial number 649-26171

Select your outboard's horsepower and click on the link to the appropriate chart. Find the section of the chart that corresponds to your outboard's horsepower. Compare the serial number on your outboard to the numbers on the chart and find the two serial numbers between which your serial number lies. The year your outboard was manufactured will be the year displayed with the lower of the two numbers.

For you guys looking to see what year your Mariner is or all other outboard brands this is what I came up with. It's Canadian engine, which usually isn't on the lists.

Evinrude changed how they indicate year in the model number in Depending on the whether your engine is from before or after that year determins how you will find your Evinrude engine year information.

If your are still unsure of your engine year, search for your model number on the Evinrude later serial number year chart located here. Pre For engines prior to refer the the Evinrude serial number year chart located here. Commercial If you have a commercial model refer to the Evinrude commercial serial number year chart located here. With Yamaha model numbers, the last letter indicates the year. Note: Begining in Yamaha stopped including the year information in the model number.

The production date can be found on the transom bracket of post motors. With Suzuki model numbers, the last letter indicates the year. Nothing in the Chrysler Outboard engine model numbers or serial numbers provides year information.
