Running a quick test under identical conditions to the article, Teracopy on Win 8 x64 completed test 1 in seconds, 32 seconds up on what Win 8 managed by itself. It will improve things slightly but Win 8 is horribly slow compared to Win 7 and even XP. Even Fastcopy took seconds so it seems Win 8 simply struggles with certain file transfers whatever software you use. Unlikely, but worth asking.
