Setup tz 190

Normally, I skip configuration wizards because I like controlling and selecting each option. For this review, I configured the TZ manually and via the Setup Wizard, and found the Setup Wizard to be an excellent means for getting up and running quickly.

Again, all of these steps can be done manually, but the wizard made it easy. Having all devices on a network time-synchronized is useful when it comes to troubleshooting and reading log entries to determine when certain events occurred on the network. On the plus side, there is a neat mouse-over feature that allows you to place your cursor over the Details icon for each statically configured device and see the names you assigned to each IP.

Below is a screen shot of a listing of devices on the test LAN; notice the informative display produced in the mouse-over. Before going forward and possibly having to redo these configurations, I saved my configuration settings, which is easily done through the System-Settings menu. It's harder than you think for that expensive router of yours to deliver all the throughput the big number on its box promises. We show you why. Trying to decide between a router and a Wi-Fi System?

This experiment should help you choose wisely. Updated: Here's a quick primer on Wi-Fi 6E. If I am misunderstanding you, and you are trying to create tunnel using your existing ISP connection, then normally you would have your modems in WAN and X1 respectively, unless you have enhanced firmware, you won't be able to bind the VPN tunnel to a different interface than those. If you have enhanced firmware, make sure the VPN tunnel is bound to those interfaces.

Also double check your sonicwall identifiers in the VPN setup screen. Can't tell you how many times I have messed those up. Once configured the tunnel should come up automatically. Also, the bottom of that screen will list all of the currently active tunnels. From your description it sounds like you already have a P2P connection and this will be the backup? If so, you'll need to modify your routing on your primary gateway so that it uses the SonicWall as a backup. I do in fact have P2P dedicated link setup, and that's what has me thinking, I should like you guys have mentioned only use the VPN tunnel when traversing over the internet connection.

With this being a P2P link, I would just need to put these ports in a zone with correct settings and then the networks should be linked? There is traffic RX Unicast Packets, RX Bytes I can see on each sonic wall in the ports I have them connected too so they are in a way talking, I just have to set the zone up correctly?

I've got this connection in place to be dedicated for DFS replication - that was the easy part setting that up ha, I currently have that running over windows native vpn client. I understand where you are coming from and it is indeed helping, a little more and I'll get there. I have set up as you suggested network objects for each respective opposite network on each sonic wall.

On the tz , I have having trouble assigning the x2 interface a zone, when I go to set it as I did on the other it reports "Invalid IP address: Choose an address within the subnet ". I didn't notice this in your OP, but It is the network address and can't be assigned to a device, which is probably why the sonicwall is barking at you and also why the only thing coming through are broadcasts.

Since that's an internal IP range, I am guessing you can assign whatever you want in that range, so try making the IP One other thing, make sure you don't still have the VPN tunnel setup on either Sonicwall, or it will confuse the sonicwall. Delete the VPN tunnel entirely. I got the network tech to change the gateway to With it set up correctly I'm not not able to talk to communicate to the other network at all with the connection in place and set up correctly. I'm thinking sonic wall firewall issue - I'm going to play with that and allow the respective network ranges.
